Website Scorecard

How we judge a contractor website

The Website Scorecard is the public framework behind the website view of the Revenue Leak Review. It shows where a home-service website may be losing leads, bookings, and revenue — and what only the owner can answer.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A contractor website audit should answer one question: can a ready-to-buy homeowner understand the offer, reach the business, and book a job without friction? The Website Scorecard follows that path instead of stopping at speed and search rankings. It scores only what the public site can prove. Everything else becomes a question for the owner.

The three leaks that cost the most jobs

Most contractor website audits stop at speed and search rankings. These are the three leaks that actually stop a ready-to-buy homeowner:

  • They can’t tell what you do — or how to reach you. The service, city, and next action are unclear, or the phone and form are hard to find.
  • They don’t trust the next step enough to take it. Reviews, licensing, insurance, and a response expectation are missing or buried.
  • The site is hard to use, hard to find, or impossible to measure. It breaks on a phone, loses local search visibility, or gives you no way to see which leads came from it.

The full framework covers seven areas and 12 journey stages. Read the Revenue Leak Framework for the complete map.

What you get

  • A one-page report with the three biggest leaks.
  • The evidence for each finding, labeled verified, strong signal, or owner data required.
  • The fix to make first, and how much it moves the score.
  • A full audit and a data file for teams that need the detail.
  • A score only for what the public site can prove — never a number for the CRM, phone system, or close rate.

What it won't do

  • It won't replace your CRM, call tracking, booking calendar, or financial data.
  • It won't promise revenue, leads, jobs, or rankings.
  • It won't claim that “not observed” means “not happening.”
  • It won't publish a client’s private data, screenshots, or customer information.

Why we made it public

A diagnostic is only useful if you can inspect it. The scoring rules, the evidence rules, and the method are public, so you can see how a finding is judged instead of trusting a black box. Use it to check our work — or to run the review yourself.

We publish client results only when they are measured and the client approves them. See the Results page.
